Future Student Engagement Officer (Identified) – Ongoing, Full Time

Reporting to the Head of Student Recruitment and Admissions, this role is responsible for seeking, developing and following up leads; recruiting students from across Australia into the school; and identifying and implementing improvements to the admissions process. Working alongside the marketing team, you will create targeted nurturing campaigns to increase new student applications and enrolments. This will also support the building of custom reports in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, to provide insightful data to harness student recruitment opportunities. This role will be crucial to the execution of the Student Recruitment and Admissions Strategic Plan.


Working collaboratively with the First Nations and Outreach division, this position implements student recruitment activities designed to increase diversity with a particular focus on building a strong First Nations student cohort, community outreach activity and schools marketing campaigns. This includes building and maintaining high-school career advisor relationships, booking and staffing career fairs and ensuring AFTRS is represented in a professional manner.

 

About the role:

As the Future Student Engagement Officer at AFTRS, you will:

 

  • Facilitate the student recruitment process from initial enquiry through to application submission. This includes answering enquiries via phone, email, website and in person in a timely, informative, and friendly manner.

  • Identify and implement improvements to the recruitment process, increasing team productivity and enhancing the student experience.

  • Work with the marketing team to develop lead-nurturing campaigns and targeted content to drive new interest and enrolment for courses and award programs.

  • Work closely with the First Nations and Outreach division to implement culturally appropriate strategies to increase applications from students from culturally and racially marginalised backgrounds from across Australia, with a particular focus on First Nations applications.

  • Work closely with the Short Courses and Marketing teams to identify UX improvements in the CRM and on the AFTRS website, to enhance customer experience and increase team productivity.

  • Assist with and prepare relevant documentation for the Admissions Committee, working closely with faculty to ensure all information is accurate.

  • Support the Head of Student Recruitment and Admissions in developing and implementing strategies to attract and support student recruitment activities, student exchange opportunities and international co-partner initiatives.

  • Provide culturally informed and appropriate advice to all prospective students, in particular to prospective First Nations students.

  • Create and maintain the student recruitment career fair calendar, to ensure AFTRS has a presence at key fairs around Australia.

  • Build and manage relationships with schools, including digital media teachers and career advisors.

  • Build custom reports in the CRM to report on short course and award course interest.


About you – you have:

The successful candidate will be required to provide evidence to confirm that they are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.

  1. Experience in sales or student recruitment roles within education, training or screen and arts environments.
  2. Demonstrable knowledge of First Nations culture and protocols with the ability to build relationships with First Nations people, communities and organisations.
  3. Strong communication skills and proven ability to manage enquiries across multiple platforms including phone, email, social, direct messaging and web enquiries.
  4. Understanding of opportunities to nurture and build prospective student pathways with a focus on culturally and racially marginalised students.
  5. Strong stakeholder management skills and proven ability to work across functions.
  6. Excellent problem-solving capabilities with the ability think quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Salary: AFTRS Level 5 ($73,394) + up to 15.4% super, and excellent benefits.
